Päivä alkoi Otaniemestä, josta lähdimme yhteisbussilla kohti Blominmäen jätevedenpuhdistamoa. Blominmäessä meille oli tarjolla aamupalapatonkeja ja hedelmiä samalla kun saimme kuulla HSY:stä ja Blominmäen jätevedenpuhdistamon toiminnasta. Esityksen jälkeen pääsimme kiertämään itse puhdistamolla ja tutustumaan puhdistusprosessin eri vaiheisiin. Kierros oli todella mielenkiintoinen ja oli hienoa olla mukana Akvan ensimmäisellä vierailulla Blominmäessä.
Syötyämme vielä hieman eväitä lähdimme bussilla kohti Swecon toimistoa Ilmalassa. Swecolla pääsimme kuulemaan mm. hulevesien hallinnasta sekä verkostosuunnittelusta kiinnostavien projektien kautta. Kävimme mielenkiintoisia keskusteluja alalla työskentelystä sekä kansainvälisyydestä. Lopuksi meille tarjottiin vielä bageleita ja virvokkeita.
Excursiopäivä oli oikein onnistunut ja saimme tutustua vesi- ja ympäristötekniikan alaan hyvin monipuolisesti. Kiitos kovasti HSY ja Sweco, lämpimästä vastaanotosta, ja että saimme tulla vierailemaan :)!
The day started from Otaniemi where we took a bus to Blominmäki wastewater treatment plant. At Blominmäki we were offered some breakfast baguettes and fruits while we got to hear about HSY and the operation of Blominmäki wastewater treatment plant. After the presentation we got to tour in the treatment plant and got to see the different phases of the process. The tour was very interesting and it was great to be able to be a part of Akva’s first visit to Blominmäki.
After we had eaten a bit more, we headed towards Sweco office in Ilmala. Sweco presented their work through interesting projects in stormwater management and network design. We also had interesting conversations about working in the field and internationality. In the end we were offered some bagels and refreshments.
The excursion day was very successful and we got to see many different sides of the field of water and environmental engineering. So thank you to HSY and Sweco for having us :)!
